Great Expectations

So, turns out Dan has this whole week off. This was just about the best surprise we could have gotten, and he is really enjoying himself. Because he has this week off I am doing everything I can think of to speed this little lady's coming as much as possible. There is no guarantee that if she comes after this week that Dan will get any time off to see her. Thank you Vet School. So, any old wives tales about inducing labor you wanna share with me would be much appreciated. I'll try almost anything, but I draw the line at eating weird things. No thanks.

Our crib got delivered today. Unfortunately, it was the wrong crib. Womp womp. So, we had to call them so they could come pick up this giant box and send us the right one. We'll probably get the real deal in a week or so, but it's no biggie since we were just going to leave it in the box anyways. (Easier to move to Virginia that way)

Dan got a call from an Army guy this afternoon saying that he has a hard copy of his orders! Yay! Dan will meet with him on Thursday and get his orders, so then we'll actually know WHEN we're leaving and be able to apply for housing, moving, etc. Exciting news!

Here's hoping baby comes tonight!

  1. If Evelyn hasn't come yet, the two things I've heard to induce labor are walking (a lot) and *getting busy*. Even if the walking doesn't get her here faster, it should help the labor go easier. The second option has something to do with your hormones, oxytocin I'm thinking? And that is supposed to induce contractions and such. That is the end of my wisdom ;-)

  2. Brandon and Brooke are right, and they put *getting busy* a lot more tastefully than I would have. :) And walking. And spicy food. Good luck! So excited for you!

  3. Drink castor oil with a citrus juice. It made my water break.

  5. I love reading your blog! I love knowing how you are doing even if we don't talk very often! :)

To induce labor, walking as everyone else has said. Castor oil must be done carefully, or it could dehydrate you and the baby. Sex is supposed to work, and there is a chemical in sperm that can bring on contractions.

Can your doctor strip your membrane?

HOpe that all wasnt too graphic! MIss you!
