Our apartment is small
like really small
And right now we're finally getting all the things we need for baby
Which makes our kitchen/living room look like this
What should I do?
I have no idea where to put all these things
and how do I make a place for my little Evelyn when space is so limited?
Help!
is there an ikea nearby? they have lots of great organizational tools. i think it's just all about being organized. does evelyn have her own room or will she be rooming in with you?
ReplyDeleteThose plastic dresser things form Target or walmart might help. you could put them in that big storage closet or by the book case in you living room. they stack so that might be helpful. It's hard to say what might work with how little space you have. I wish you did Have an Ikea there! That would help this situation a ton. We love our Ikea.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I capitalized that H... ha
ReplyDeleteSadly, we do not have an Ikea around here and she will be in our room until we move cause our apartment is only one bedroom. We have all of our really big stuff (except the crib) now and I have no place to put any of it. The plastic dresser things was something I was maybe thinking about doing, but what about the stroller and the pack and play? Or the bouncer. lol. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteutilize the space under your bed if you can. you can store a lot of things there. we keep winter/summer clothes under ours in those large, flat storage bins.
ReplyDeletei would also consider putting some of the things that you won't use for a month or two somewhere else until you need them. like at your parent's house, perhaps? if you got a swing or a highchair or a bumbo, etc you won't need any of that for several months.
the stroller and car-seat probably won't end up being a big deal because you will be using them so often. i take evie somewhere in her car-seat every day, so it's always just chilling by the door or on the table waiting to go out to the car again. you could store your stroller in the trunk of your car, which is what i do, because if i want it for a walk, that is just as easy as going to the garage to get it and if i need it somewhere else, i always have it.
the pack & play folds up very small, stuff that under your bed too-OR you could just hold off on getting the crib right now and have her sleep in the pack & play until your next apartment, that way you don't have 2 cribs to make room for. evie sleeps in hers because i am picky and still haven't found a crib i like & it is just fine. they obviously don't know the difference. the bouncer will probably just sit out in your living room all the time and that shouldn't bug you too much? mine doesn't bug me, at least. hope this helps.
