The Nightie

last week I was at Target getting some much needed items when I stumbled upon the pajamas and working-out section of the clothes. Side note: I LOVE the pajamas section of Target. It's kind of a weakness. Anyways, so I started perusing through the pajamas when I came upon the cutest, softest, most perfect nightie I have ever seen. It's sea foam green and as soft as a baby's bottom (too much?) so I bought it. Ever since then, I change into said nightie at every opportunity. In fact, I am wearing it right now as I do my homework and play on the internet. I just thought that I would let you all know about my brand new addiction. It's cute, it's comfortable, and it's cool.

twenty-nine and thirty

Arizona gray and white sweater, ae jeans

This was from our double date with our good friends Tommy and Chelsea. Dan and Tommy just happen to have the exact same sweater, so we thought it would be funny if we all matched. Mission accomplished because someone did stop us and ask what was with all of us matching. That was a lot of fun. I love those guys.

green and white polka-dot dress, white flats

So, I was done with this challenge on Sunday! I definitely had mixed feelings about it until I woke up on Monday and realized I could wear grungy sweats if I wanted to, and all of a sudden I was very excited. This has seriously been so much fun! Thanks for all of your comments and support. Hopefully you will still like my blog without all the pretty pictures. ;) I am off to repeat an outfit for the first time in about a month. Yay!

ANNIVERSARY!
Yesterday was Dan and I's first wedding anniversary. I can't believe that a year ago we were here

Last night to celebrate we went to Harry's, which is the nicest restaurant in Manhattan. It was so yummy! And, it was so much fun to get all dressed up and go to a super ritzy place. Dan made the reservations and told them it was our anniversary, so they had a booth that was secluded from anyone just for us and kept coming over to congratulate us. It was a lot of fun. And, did I mention how delicious the food was?

So, after dinner we went to the institute to play pool and just hang out and talk. The institute is the place where we first met, so it is pretty special to us. And, we took some pictures there.

I have had an amazing Spring Break. I got to spend some quality time with my family and my hubby, who is my favorite person in the whole world. This year has been great. I feel so blessed everyday to have someone as amazing as Dan in my life. He is always uplifting me, encouraging me, helping out, and generally just making me feel special. He really is the reason why my life feels worthwhile. I love him so much and I look forward to many, many more wonderful years together.

St. Patty's

I love this holiday. Green is my favorite color and ever since I was little my family has made a big deal out of this holiday. My mom used to sprinkle a trail of green glitter from each of our rooms to our treasure that was hidden somewhere in the house. It was usually chocolate. Then, we would have green eggs and ham and do something fun that day. I love wearing green too, which is another reason I love this holiday. I forgot to take a picture today, so that won't be in the update, but I am wearing a dark green lace cami from DownEast, a white T-shirt, a green jacket, and a white scarf. Pretty much it. Oh, and green socks. :) So... that makes today #26! Almost done!

Today my mom made green eggs, green pancakes, and bacon for breakfast. Yum. Then my mom, Dan, and me went to a driving range and hit some golf balls. Dan had a blast. It was so much fun to watch him. haha. We then went to lunch at Avivo, delicious, and headed back to the dentist so Dan could get his cavity filled and I could get my cleaning. So, that was our St. Patty's Day. Hope yours was as amazing!

Shirts, Shoes, Dentist, and Food

Like my title? Me too.
My mom took me to lunch and shopping on Saturday and it was so much fun. I can't remember the last time I went shopping because I don't have any girl friends to go with, so it was amazing. I got some quality girl time with my mom and it was like a breath of fresh air. Dan got to spend that day with my dad watching basketball, so he was happy too.

Today Dan and I finally went to the dentist! This may not be exciting to you, but neither of us have been to the dentist in years because we don't have insurance and we're poor. But, my mom found this place in Wichita that prices things according to your income and you don't need insurance so we went. Do not be alarmed. It was actually super clean and they were all certified dentists (I was worried too). Turns out I don't have any cavities. Hmm... I am not sure how that happened because I was positive I had at least 4. I guess not. Turns out Dan only has one cavity, so the news just keeps getting better and better. We feel so incredibly blessed because we finally know what is going on (in our mouths) and we can finally fix it and afford it. It is such a great relief.

So, we have had an amazing time here and I wish this week would last forever. I really need this time with my mom. I was beginning to feel overwhelmed, so this has been perfect. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week!

p.s. I still haven't repeated an outfit and I've been taking pictures everyday, so look forward to that later!

blunder

We are now officially in Wichita starting our spring break (YAY), but unfortunately I have forgotten my camera cord. Whoops. And so, I have decided that I will go ahead and take a picture everyday and just upload and post all of them when I get back to Manhattan.

Also today: I had to take 2 midterms so I was studying all last night and got up really early this morning to continue studying. After my last test, Dan picked me up and he was really excited about something. He said that he had a special present just for me. When we got home he led me into the bedroom and on my pillow are fresh orange lilies and a Symphony bar. Sweet boy. He was getting some things from the store and decided to buy me some flowers on a whim. It definitely made my day. Isn't he the greatest?

Today we went with my parents to see Alice in Wonderland which was amazing. I just had to read the first book for class, so it was a lot of fun to watch the second one on screen. Coming from someone who has read the book, I think it was incredibly well done. I would highly recommend it, but if you don't like it I am terribly sorry. You're missing out though.

Tomorrow I am going to judge forensics and debate with my mom at my old high school. My mom is super excited about it, so I am excited to go with her. haha. I love spending time with my mom because she is amazing so it should be a lot of fun.

Have a great weekend all! I may be posting something in the next couple of days, but it won't be pictures.

blue shirt from Target, gray Aerie pants, black Ugg boots

I thought that I was done with you Uggs. I had put you away in my closet and started wearing shoes instead of boots in anticipation of Spring. Last week was in the 50's and 60's, and then today it snowed. So, I pulled you, Uggs, out of my closet so that you could keep my feet warm on my long treck down to class. I love you, but I sincerely hope that we won't be meeting again soon.

I have two midterms tomorrow and then we're off to Wichita to spend a few days with my folks! Yay! I can't wait for Spring Break and I REALLY hope I do well on my tests. Yikes.

nineteen

ae grayish-blue top, black DownEast cami, ae straight jeans, black Crocs

My professor apparently got food poisoning so the only class I had today was cancelled. So sweet. As a result, I spent the entire day at work or in the library. I have paper cuts all over my hands because I was cutting things all day and now I am desperately trying to get up the motivation to study for my midterms on Friday. I really hate tests. Plus, it has been raining for three days straight and I would say that is a good excuse not to go anywhere or do anything. Am I the only one who thinks that on a rainy day you should stay inside, drink hot chocolate, and read a book?

Funny Story: I took a Benadryl before I went to bed last night because my sinuses were killing me. So, my alarm goes off at 7 this morning, just like every morning, and I couldn't be more confused. I don't think I moved at all the whole night and I was POSITIVE that it was a Saturday. I have no idea why, but I completely thought it was Saturday so I got really upset that my alarm was going off and mumbled something to that affect, to which Dan laughed heartily, reminded me it was a Wednesday, and got out of bed. What a way to start the morning huh?

Happy Wednesday Folks

button up shirt from Target, AE skinny jeans, brown boots

I reserve the right to cut my face out of any picture that would embarrass me, and this was definitely one of them. Sorry if the headless Britany freaks you out.

I didn't have time to post this yesterday cause I was so busy, so expect to see nineteen sometime later this evening. Yay!

Yesterday was fun! I...
-had a great day of classes (which is rare)
-went shopping and got manicures with one of my best friends
-spent a little time cuddling with the Hubby
-went to the relief society raffle activity and won some homemade bread

I have never liked relief society. I am just going to put that out there right now. But, I feel like I should always go to these events because I am never in relief society due to being in Primary. Can I just tell you how awesome these women are? They are all so funny and outgoing and it was just so much fun to be there and to get to know all of them better. I have never had this experience before. I seriously love the women in our ward. I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time.

So, sorry I didn't post this yesterday, but you'll forgive me I hope. Forgive me also for the headless picture please! I will try to do better in the future.

forest green shirt from Target, dark blue flare jeans from AE, brown boots

Today it rained.... a lot. I hate it when it rains, and I know most people will completely disagree with me, so let me explain. I absolutely HATE wearing wet clothes. That is seriously one of the only things I absolutely cannot tolerate. I hate having the bottom of my jeans be wet because then it gets my socks wet, and when my socks are wet my feet are cold, and when my feet are cold I get upset. And it goes on and on. You can see how on a rainy day when I have to be outside a lot how I would become grumpy easily right?

Dan was able to take the pictures for this outfit this morning before both of us left, but I didn't look at them until I got home around 6, and oh wow. These were terrible, seriously. I don't know what was going on because when I looked in the mirror I felt like I looked pretty good. So, I chose this one to put up, even though it is a candid one, because it is hiding my face. I haven't worn this shirt in a really long time and I have no idea why. I really love it. It's a good color cause it brings out my eyes, it has cool sleeves and a cool collar, and it fits well. What the heck Britany? Anyways, have a great Monday night.

gray Maxi dress from... somewhere... I don't remember, navy blue shirt from Aerie, gray sweater thing from Forever 21, black Crocs (I wear these a lot, also seen here, and here, and here, and here )

It is my belief that if it is fast Sunday you should dress as comfortably as possible because you're already starving, so why wear binding and uncomfortable clothing as well? I also believe that on fast Sundays, since there is a lack of energy, I cannot be held responsible for how my hair looks. Just thought that I would point that out. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday cause I know I will!

gray turtleneck shirt from Target, red and white polka dot dress from Anne Taylor Loft, gray leggings from somewhere, black Crocs

Today is "Fake Patty's Day" here in Manhattan, so Dan and I have done everything we need to do outside of our apartment already. Let me explain. St. Patrick's Day is during our Spring Break, so the Saturday before spring break everyone wears green, goes to Aggieville, and gets incredibly drunk, all in the name of St. Patrick. Apparently, a long time ago, someone decided that it sucked that everyone was gone on another holiday that is just an excuse to drink, so now they have a "fake" holiday. There are T-shirts and everything. It's no joke. Dan and I don't live too far from Aggieville, so we plan on staying indoors for the remainder of the evening because all the crazies are out right now. We went to get Dan's haircut and then ate at Old Chicago for dinner and on our drive to Great Clips we saw 4 completely hammered individuals and it was only 3:30 in the afternoon. Seriously. That's what you get for living in a college town I guess.

I hope you all enjoy your Saturday! I will be reading and watching movies... by myself... because Dan has to study for his test on Monday. Awesome.

p.s. In case you were wondering, I am wearing this dress because it's light and comfortable and jeans just didn't seem "spring-y" enough for me. Also, today is my halfway mark, so I thought I would make it special. Only 15 more days to go!

p.s.s. I'm not sure if I'm going to make it another 15 days cause I'm running out of ideas.

Sorry, no picture today. I forgot to take one, but you aren't missing much anyways, trust me. I was wearing a green top from forever 21 and blue jeans. Exciting right?

Today was uneventful except for Dan making dinner. He made tilapia and rice. This may not seem like a very big deal to anyone, but it is. Let me explain:
Reason first: Dan never cooks
Reason second: I really don't like fish, but I'm trying to branch out
Reason third: this is one of the first times this week that we've spent time together.

Now, I am going to watch a movie and fold our laundry. Is there anything better than clean laundry? I contest that there is not.

I lied

I changed my blog again. But, I really do think I am done this time. I like the black, white, and red look and the new and improved header. It just felt like there were too many pictures of me everywhere, so I wanted to put a quote in to push me down. So, here you go! The new (again) Christensen blog.

DownEast light yellow 3/4 tee, Maroon-ish wool jacket that I forgot I had from Express, favorite AE jeans

I am sorry to report that today was incredibly uneventful. I tried cooking my mother-in-law's recipe for taco soup, and it didn't turn out NEARLY as well as hers did last time I had it. So, that was disappointing, however, Dan seemed to really enjoy it. My 9:30 am class got cancelled today, but I didn't read the email until I was completely done getting ready at 7:45. Ugh. I hate when that happens.

Side note: I am really enjoying my Family Relationships and Gender Roles class. I feel like I'm really learning a lot and I absolutely love my teacher. I may or may not post some things in the future because they're pretty neat and helpful. Last class we talked all about conflict resolution, which made me think of that episode of the Office (haha), but he gave us some really great tips for when you are upset about something and need to resolve the problem with your spouse. Anyways, enough about that.

Today at work my boss and I spent 45 minutes trying to copy the same stupid thing because a client ordered 25 copies of this pamphlet. We could not figure out how to make the stupid thing fit on the paper! It was so frustrating, but by the end we thought it was hilarious and just started cracking up. I love my bosses, they're awesome. In case no one knows, I work for two graphic designers on campus. So, I basically cut the things out that they print and laminate it. And, that is also how I was able to do my banner because I have photoshop at work.

Wow... This post was boring and about absolutely nothing. I applaud you if you read it all.

Blog

Okay, I think that I have FINALLY decided on a layout and color and stuff. Maybe. I made the banner myself, so let me know if it's hideous. I would like your feedback if you have time! What do you think?

button-up shirt from Pink, black Aerie pants, mocassins

Today was a really great day. That is why I am excited here ^. Today, Dan and I finally received something we've been waiting for since August, yeah August. We've been incredibly stressed and impatient, but now it's all over. I feel completely overwhelmed with gratitude and just feel so blessed. Everything is finally starting to fall into place and we will FINALLY be able to go forward with things that we need to do. We seriously couldn't be more excited. I'm sorry this is so cryptic, but I haven't been told I could discuss these things on a blog, so it's probably best that I don't. I hope you all have a great night.

p.s. There were a lot of funny pictures for this outfit, but I chose the one that says, "Sweet Freedom". Dan was being quite the bossy photographer today.

Fashion Show

Last night I was really bored because I didn't really have any homework and Dan was studying (like always), so I decided to go through my closet and try to plan my outfits for the next couple of days, so as not to repeat the hoodie incident. After I had decided that an outfit was cute, I would go into the living room and show Dan. At first it was just kind of something to do, and then it turned into this really fun fashion show that we were both enjoying. I love how involved Dan is getting with this whole project. He is starting to recognize what women are wearing around him and comment about it, and when I ask him his opinion on something I'm wearing he actually says something helpful instead of, "That look fine." Like, last night I asked him which shoes I should wear with something and he picked one and said the other looked funny "with that outfit". Seriously people, did I snag a good one or what? This is just another reason why I absolutely adore him. Even though he's busy, he takes time to be interested in something that I am doing and is continually giving advice and support. Just the fact that he wants to be involved in something I'm doing, even though he has NO personal interest in clothes, is really charitable and loving. I couldn't feel more loved, and it is all because he told me which shoes to wear. Amazing.

lime green cami from Old Navy, AE green hoodie, AE blue jeans, moccasins

I didn't have very much time to get ready today, and as a result I look like this. I'm sorry if this is disappointing to you, I will try to do better in the future. But, in my defense, hoodies are exceptionally comfortable and pigtails are awesome. That is all.

p.s. Are you sensing a pattern in my wardrobe yet? If not, think comfort and I'm sure you'll get there.

Graduation

I was approved for Graduation today! I couldn't be more excited!!! Yay!!!!! I graduate on May 15th at 8:30 am, if I choose to walk. Actually, whether or not I walk is kind of up to my parents cause I don't want to. But, I'm graduating!! No more school! It's time to enter the real world now, which is daunting.

The Big Ten

Black DownEast tee, BKE jeans, black Crocs

Today was a really long day (see post below) so I didn't have time to make myself presentable, hence me hiding my face in the picture. Have a good night all!

Mondays

I hate mondays, and not just because they're at the beginning of the week and the end of the weekend, but also because they are my busiest day. On mondays I have institute at 8:30, my American Drama class at 9:30, work until 2:20, and my History class from 2:30-5:20. This history class is called Death and Dying in History and is just about the longest and most boring ever loving class of all time. Ugh. So, after my death class I run home, quickly eat something, and run over to Geoff and Jessica's for FHE at 6. Now, every other week they come to our apartment for FHE, but the urgency and crunch time is the same. After FHE I still have to do all the homework that is due the next day. AH! I hate Mondays. How did I schedule myself this tight? What a poor choice in time management. Anyways... Does anyone like Mondays? Let me know.

Today I have to:
-remember that education is important and keep on trucking
-revise a paper
-write a paper
-finish The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

On a more EXCELLENT note, Mondays also bring my all time favorite show, Chuck, which starts up again today. YAY!!! I'm so excited.
