the big WHERE

Dan got the email from the army that we've been waiting for and they are sending us to Norfolk, VA! We are very excited. It was number 2 on our list, so we can't complain. Norfolk has the largest naval base in the world as well as the largest military base in the world. I'm mostly excited about all the rich history there is to see in that area of the United States and Dan is excited about the Vet clinic on base because it's big and he won't be the only veterinarian. We don't yet know when we're going, but I think we'll find that out soon enough. The person who assigned us our duty station also emailed all the people in Virginia who would be in charge of settling us in and they all responded immediately with all good things to say. It sounds to me that we actually have some say in when we go because they all want Dan to contact them so that they can work out the details and stuff. Pretty neat. Norfolk, here we come!

Splurge

So, you know how my last post said that I would hold off on buying anything for baby until after my baby shower? Well... I went to Target today to get a new notebook and planner and there was this little pink and blue outfit that was ADORABLE. I couldn't pass it up and I simply HAD to get it. Cutest thing ever. One thing led to another and I started walking down all the baby aisles taking in all the adorable stuff they had while making a mental list about all the stuff I want. I also ended up buying some cool bottles for later that my Grandma was telling me about. Seriously, the stuff they have nowadays is amazing. Sorry Dan, I splurged and spent our money on our little girl. :)

Yeesh

Today I had to have the gestational diabetes test done, which means that I had to drink an incredibly sugary drink, wait and hour, and then have someone take my blood. It was unpleasant. There is a reason why I only drink diet drinks and stay away from anything too sugary, because it makes my stomach REALLY upset. So, I have been having a rough day today with tummy issues. Oh well. Hopefully I don't have diabetes!

Congratulations to my cousin, Jessica, on her beautiful baby girl! And, Congratulations to Mallorie on her baby boy!! Yay! So many babies this year!

I am now officially in my third trimester. How did that happen? It feels like yesterday that I found out I was having a baby! I just can't wrap my mind around it. Dan and I have been dragging our feet on buying anything for our little girl, not sure why, but as the due date creeps closer and closer I find myself getting more and more anxious. I want to go out and buy diapers and little clothes with matching little shoes, but at the same time I want to keep saving that money for the big stuff. Maybe I'll wait a little longer, until after my baby shower or something. Yikes!

I am glad to be home in my own bed and with my Hubby again. I missed him a lot.

Random Post

I'm bored, so here comes a blog post. Can I just say how much I love being pregnant? The very beginning was a little hard and I definitely did not love it them because of all the nausea, but I am loving being pregnant. I love the thought that I alone am responsible for this little girls' welfare and it has changed my life. Literally. Everything I do has to be a little different now, from the way I drive to the things that I eat, because my sole purpose in life right now is to make sure my little girl grows and is healthy. I LOVE using the excuse, "I'm making a tiny human, may I be excused?". I love that I can eat a piece of cake and not feel guilty about the carbs. I love watching my belly grow and seeing all the changes in myself. And, I love feeling her kick because it's reassuring and reminds me that she's there. I just love this little girl so much already and I cannot wait to meet her.

In other news:
Dan passed his board exam!!! He got the letter yesterday and he did tons better than he thought he would. I am so proud of him and I'm glad that is over. The not knowing has been torture, so it's like this huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. No matter what happens from now on, he passed his veterinary licensing board exam, and that's amazing.

I hope you're all doing well and staying warm. If you have any suggestions about good TV shows I can get into and watch whole seasons of, let me know.

Bulge

26 weeks
I'm still feeling pretty good, aside from some minor aches and pains. Everything is going well with the baby and we're both healthy.

In other news:
Lately, I have been babysitting this guy

his name is Lucas and he is adorable and so well behaved. I've really enjoyed having him around because I desperately want a dog. I wonder if Jess will let me keep him...

Also, it finally snowed!!!

This was just the best present to wake up to. LOVE snow.

This Year

2010 was a great year. It was probably one of my very favorites so far. We did so many fun things!
- I had the best semester of my life
- I did a 30 day wardrobe challenge and proved Dan wrong
- Dan had his white coat ceremony and we got to show his parents around
- I graduated college (yay)
- Dan and I went to the cabin with his family
- We found out we were having a baby
- We spent one great week in Dallas with my sisters
- We had great costumes for Halloween
- We got to spend a week with my family for Thanksgiving
- Dan took his board exam (yay)
- We sent in our list of duty stations that we would like
- Found out we're having a girl
- We got to spend two weeks in Utah spending quality time with his and my family
- We spent oodles of quality time together
- And we grew closer together

What a great year... It will be missed. However, 2011 is bound to be even better. We're going to have a little girl in a little over 3 months! This is both exciting and terrifying. I am excited to see what 2011 has in store for us, where we'll end up, what our lives will be like, and what being a parent is going to feel like. All I know is that whatever happens and wherever we end up, that is where the Lord wants us. Happy New Year everyone! It's going to be great!
