Today

Evelyn went right back to sleep after her middle of the night feedings. Yay!
She also didn't want to stay up past 11pm. Another BIG yay!
As a result, I got about 6 hours of sleep. Hallelujah.
She did a little better with her afternoon naps
but, not by a lot
of course she is a perfect angel once Dan gets home
show off
I was able to clean a little today
put all my maternity cloths in a bin under the bed
and got out all of my non-maternity stuff
folded the laundry that has been sitting in our closet for weeks
made dinner
straightened up the living room and kitchen
and watched Arrested Development with the Hubby

All-in-all, it was a MUCH better day. I hope tomorrow goes as smoothly.

  1. What a huge difference a decent amount of sleep makes! Good luck, it is overwhelming at first, but you'll be a pro in no time.

Some things that worked (sometimes) for mine during the fussy times were swaddling good and tight, the sound of running water, and the sound of the dryer. Do you have a bjorn or a similar carrier? That's really the only way I got anything done when Leah was a baby.

You guys are great loving parents and she's lucky to have you both!

  2. Good luck, those times can get so hard. She looks like a cutie. Do you guys have a fan in your apartment? Those always got Zach's attention...although just like you he was in love with his dad and was great for him.
