bad news bears

Found out that the Army has hosed us...again
apparently they typed the wrong report date on Dan's orders
so we actually report to Norfolk at the end of June. Not August
which means we don't get to spend the 4th of July with my family
or see Dave before he goes on his mission
or go to the cabin
or have any kind of vacation before we leave.
It also means that we only have a few weeks to get everything ready to move
and Dan is still in San Antonio
so this responsibility falls solely on my shoulders.
what joy is mine.
I'm in Wichita now with my parents,
but now I need to go back to Manhattan and pack things we'll need right away
decide what things to throw out and what to keep
and pack all our valuables.
Hopefully Dan can get our travel arrangements made so the Army will pack and ship our stuff
but who knows.
We still don't have a place to live, so here's hoping we find something.

You guys, this sucks. We're stressed.

  1. It'll all work out! Try to focus on little steps and not the big picture so your head doesn't explode! I wish I was in KS to help!

  2. I'm sorry. I know how you feel- the army can be unpredictable. I have no idea how many times I've been through that. BUT...like what Kathleen says, it'll work out. Just have faith and don't forget you have home teachers and your family to help. *hugs*

  3. I am sorry that this is so stressful! I have learned to not trust what the army says, because they like to change everything! I have also learned to have a plan B, C, and D. I miss you like crazy!!!!!
