Oh, Baby

That's right, folks. Dan and I are having a kid! I am almost 10 weeks along now, so we've decided it's probably alright if we start telling people. Our little baby is about the size of a strawberry and we couldn't be more excited! I have an updater on my iGoogle that tracks the baby's progress and gives you little facts along the way. Dan and I read this the other day and couldn't stop smiling, "The head is more erect and neck is more developed. Your baby now moves its body and limbs, and this movement can be visible during an ultrasound, but you won't be able to feel it yet". I am both kinda freaked out and excited, it's a tie. So, yes we are indeed having a baby and I am pregnant. So, if at any point I don't want to do something, it isn't you, it's probably the baby making me nauseous and tired.

Uinta Olympic Games

Welcome to the recap of the 2010 Uinta Mountains Olympic Games. Let's meet the teams!

For team Scotland, we had the married people with kids +Dave.

For team New Zealand, we had all the married people without kids

The opening ceremonies consisted of swimming across the ice cold Butterfly Lake. This was optional, and only the contestants who were willing made it across.

The next few days consisted of grueling sporting event competitions. Including: Lasso golf, Frisbee golf, horeshoes, bumper pool, Pool, darts, Foosball, home run derby, and "the whip cream game", which was very messy.

The closing ceremonies commenced over a fire pit while roasting marshmallows. Nate Christensen, the score keeper, gave out the medals for overall wins and best individual scores. Sadly, Team Scotland won overall in the end, but everyone had fun.

The place was beautiful, the weather perfect, the teams encouraging and competitive, and the atmosphere loving. Can't wait for next years' games!

End with: The cutest spectators ever

Quick Update

Dan and I are back in Manhattan as of 11pm last night. We spent two wonderful weeks in Wichita with my parents while he did his internship and then one glorious week in Utah at his family's cabin. Let me tell you, that is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and I cannot wait to go back. (An entire cabin update with pictures is forth coming). All the traveling we had to do since Saturday has really taken a tole on us, especially me, so today I am trying to just relax and settle back into life here in Man-happenin.

K-State started school today and it feels incredibly weird that I am not one of the eager students bustling their way to class today. I kind of miss it. But, then again, I also kind of like knowing that I have paid my dues and am now able to move on to a greater and more important phase in my life. So, thank you Kansas State for giving me a degree. It is something that I have always put as a priority and have striven for, for most of my life. I am so blessed. I miss the college lifestyle, but I am also very excited for what is in store for me now and where life will take me.

I am so blessed to have incredible parents, grandparents, and in-laws. I can't imagine my world without them. I feel like I now have so much support and loving guidance that there's no way I could possibly go astray, no matter how hard I might try. Being able to spend three weeks with family was such a blessing and definitely something I needed desperately at this time in my life. So, thanks family. I love you all.

And, have I mentioned lately how amazing Dan is? I love him, so much. No one knows me better or takes care of me the way he does and I will be eternally grateful for him and all he does. I couldn't be more happy that I am able to be with him forever. What a great life choice I've made!

Cabin

3 days until we go to the CABIN!!!! Yay!
fishing, hiking, horseshoes, swimming, board games, good food, and great company. I couldn't be more excited!

My best friend, Kasie, is flying in today, so I get to play with her all day tomorrow! Woot!

Also, Tommy and Chelsea's open house is tomorrow and that is crazy exciting because there will be... Dancing!! Something you may not know about Dan and I: we love to dance. If there is good music playing, Dan will just grab me and start dancing. I remember one time in the airport, there was an Elvis song playing and so Dan simply grabbed me and we danced in the airport. We are incredibly romantic. Or weird. Take your pick.

So many fun things to look forward to. What are you looking forward to?

great ideas from Anna

My friend Anna does a "Things I love, Thursday" where she writes on her blog every Thursday the things that she is thankful for at that moment. So, because this is such a good idea and I love stealing other people's great ideas, I am going to do something like this.

Today I am thankful for:

1. Frosted Flakes

They're Grrrrrreat! I love to snack on these. No milk, just cereal. Yum.

2. Supernatural

I used to be really into this show when I was in high school and like the first year of college, but I stopped watching after a while. I love these boys. Plus, it is super interesting to see how they interpret the heaven and hell relationship. If only they had the gospel, they would know that Hell never wins, but then I guess there wouldn't be a show. Because I am in Wichita at my parent's house and spend most of the day by myself, I have been watching Supernatural every morning. Now I am hooked again.

3. Joey

Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen? After Dan left this morning for work, she came in and took his place in the bed. I love my little cuddler.

4. Cotton shirts

Yes, this is the shirt I am wearing today. It is so comfortable and soft. Love.

sweet sensations

today I decided not to spend my whole day on the couch watching TV, so I went to Sonic and got a cheeseburger (Yum) and then went to the grocery store and got some things. Seriously, how does my dad not starve to death without my mom or me around? After that I headed over to Target for some things and now I am watching TV on the couch.

My favorite things today:
blueberry bagels and cream cheese
ginger ale
Gilmore Girls

Hope your day has been as eventful as mine. ;)

p.s. did my title get your attention?

And counting

12 days until Tommy and Chelsea's open house and dance party!
13 days in Wichita having fun with Cable, Joey, and Mom and Dad.
14 days until we fly to Utah and spend a week at the cabin with Dan's family!!!

It's good to have exciting things to look forward to, otherwise I think I would die of boredom. I have applied to every place I can possibly think of, and yet still nothing. Please, for the sake of my sanity, someone hire me.

In other news, about a week and half ago I started feeling really sick. I'm tired all the time and just not feeling great. It kind of feels like mono all over again, but I'm not sure how I could possibly have gotten mono from doing nothing, but whatever. Hopefully this goes away soon.

Sorry about this random post of rants, but like I said, I am a little bored.
